TOURNAMENT RULES

Teams – Anyone is able to enter a team but it is encouraged that you have basic cricket skills. This competition is a “Senior Cricket” tournament, meaning that if you are aged under 18 you must have consent from your parent or guardian to play. The team must have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 8. Only 6 players can participate in a single game at one time. A player can be subbed in, only if a player has sustained an injury and that injured player will not be able to participate in the remainder of the tournament. There will be no injury subs in finals matches. It is encouraged that players wear cricket spikes as the tournament is played on a turf wicket.

The tournament will start with a group stage, followed by a knockout finals series. This format will be confirmed on the day depending on the amount of teams entered. Group stage fixtures will be randomly selected.
Team entry fee – Each team is required to pay their entry fee into the tournament prior to the group stage fixturing. The team entry fee is $250. This can be paid on the day via cash or eftpos.

Batting – The batting team will face a maximum of 6 overs per innings. Each batting pair will bat for 2 overs (maximum). For each wicket the batting team loses, they will have 5 runs deducted off their score. The batter that has lost their wicket will switch to the non-strikers end. Batting pairs will have 1 min to be at the crease ready to face up. For every 10 seconds over that minute they will be deducted 5 runs off their score.

Bowling – Each player must bowl one over per game. One day senior cricket bowling rules will apply. There should be 6 players (1 keeper, 4 fielders & 1 bowler) only on the field at once for the bowling team.

Fielding – There are no fielding restrictions, apart from when a boost over is taken by the batting team.

Boost overs (batting) – once throughout the 6 over innings the team captain of the batting team must nominate a “Boost Over”. During this over all runs scored are doubled. The batting pair can also move one fielder for that over and the bowling team cannot have a fielder within 10m of the area that nominated fielder has come from for the remainder of the over.

Boost overs (bowling) – once throughout the 6 over innings the team captain of the bowling team must nominate a “Boost over”. During this over all wickets taken will count as 10 runs off the batting teams score.

Uniform – we recommend team uniforms, but not essential. If no uniforms being worn then we ask that you have matching coloured shirts.
